Molly Weisberg is a trumpet player currently enrolled at The University of Michigan, School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. She studies classical trumpet performance and participates in jazz bands, orchestras, and brass ensembles along with other performances outside of U-M. Molly's interest in music began at age 5 when she started taking piano lessons. Once she entered middle school, she taught herself the trumpet and has been playing ever since. 

 

Molly has honed her skills at various musical camps over the summers including Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Interlochen Center for the Arts, and the New York University Summer Brass Workshop. During high school, she was first chair in the wind ensemble and trumpet section leader in the marching band. She also performed with the Detroit Metropolitan Youth Symphony for one season. Molly was awarded the Outstanding Senior Award, the MSBOA Scholar Instrumentalist Award, and the Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence.

 

Her love of performing has led to many exciting opportunities. In 2018, she performed at Carnegie Hall with the Honors Performance Series. As her high school marching band center drum major, Molly played with and conducted the school band at MCBA States at Ford Field in Detroit, MI and Bands of America Nationals at Lucas Oil Stadium In Indianapolis, IN. In 2022, she played trumpet with Bands of America Honors Band in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA.

 

Molly looks forward to continuing her journey at Michigan while furthering her musical career.
